Casa Legado is as close to perfect as is possible. It might seem hard to believe a hotel that has only 5 star reviews – believe it. The place is flawless. We checked out 60 minutes ago and so impressed by our stay was I, that I needed to log on and write this review from the airport! Thank you to Helena and everyone on the Casa Legado team.
The room is gorgeous – we stayed in Natalia and it was perfect for our needs. It’s not huge, but it’s more than ample for most. A great bathtub, comfortable bathroom and beautifully designed. The room (in fact the whole hotel) is sumptuously designed (by Helena herself!).
Private home meets boutique hotel
It’s hard to overstate the appeal of Casa Legado. It’s the perfect hybrid of a hotel and the perfect Airbnb. It’s the future of travel. The common spaces are so comfortable and welcoming you find yourself hanging out in the lounge, or on the sofa outside as you would in your own home. There is a lounge with fireplace, a help-yourself kitchen, a gorgeous dining table, a tea station which is not to be missed, and (importantly) a self service bar. It’s like you’re at home but nicer, and less work.
Casa Legado also has all the benefits of a boutique hotel. Airport transfers were easy, massages organised in-room, breakfast served whenever you wake up and to order, a never ending list of recommendations, lots of books on Colombia and Bogota, and the list goes on. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of amenities without the hotel feeling, this is it.
This is probably the most impressive feature of Casa Legado – the people. From check in to check out, we felt like we made new friends. They are incredibly friendly, relaxed, and informal at the same time as being incredibly helpful and professional. Nothing was too much trouble; in fact each and every staff member asked what we needed and proactively tried to help. And, they were all delightful people, including the security guards who watch the property. Again, hard to overstate how wonderful everyone was.
This likely stems from Helena, the owner, who is a delight. She runs the place with a real vision – a comfortable home away from home but with the friendly service you want when you’re on a hard earned and much needed vacation. It’s genuinely the kind of place you imagine you’d like to run.
And this flows through to the other guests (at least in our experience). This kind of place attracts good people – we met some lovely other guests and had great evening chats by the fire.
A quick note about the products at Casa Legado – the ceramics, glassware, decor, bathroom amenities and stationary are all beautiful. It seems that they’ve partnered with local producers, and the results are pretty impressive. A real design hotel (on top of everything I’ve mentioned above).
Flawless. Believe the reviews. Come before it’s too popular and you can’t get in for months. We’ll be back, and would seriously consider flying back just for a week at Casa Legado. Thank you to everyone at Casa Legado.
Muchas Gracias (which I believe is Spanish for see you again soon) 😉
