Here’s a piece of what Forbe’s magazine wrote: “In 2024, the Michelin Guide introduced “Keys” for hotels—a distinction equivalent to the stars it awards to restaurants. The goal is to recognize accommodations that offer outstanding experiences, regardless of their category or price range.
The system consists of three levels. One Key denotes a very special stay, characterized by a distinct personality and service that exceeds expectations. Two Keys signify an exceptional stay at a unique hotel, marked by strong character and meticulous attention to detail. Three Keys represent an extraordinary stay and constitute the highest honor in the classification.
Evaluations are conducted by inspectors who carry out anonymous, independent visits, assessing five criteria: architecture and interior design, the quality and consistency of service, the establishment’s personality and character, value for money, and its contribution to the local setting”
